MESA–Update on Tiffany Lee Hecker case (BDN v7 #48). Details. Hecker tells police she never took pregnancy test or sought pre-natal care, but thought she might be pregnant. ME rules death a homicide. Boyfriend, Jermaine Davidson, 19, not believed to be involved; doesn’t now why Hecker didn’t tell him anything. Hecker reportedly gave birth in Davidson’s bathroom, then called mother who she claims urged her to wrap baby in plastic bag and put him in trash. Retrieved baby 10 minutes later and mother took it and placenta to hospital.

Utah Supreme Court rules “K,M, in 2002 a 15-year old girl who lawyers says has a learning disability, can withdraw her guilty plea to child abuse and homicide. Says she thought she was acknowledging only that she had neglected a “little body” by not calling for help after birth. Made original plea against parents’ wishes.
