LOUISVILLE–Update on Bellarmine University case (BDN v7 #43). Kathryn “Katie” McCoy, 19 arrested after discharge from hospital; charged with murder, concealing birth of child, and tampering with physical evidence. According to arrest citation McCoy spent more than an hour in dorm bathroom then came out and asked roommate for garbage bag. Let infant fall into toilet causing her death. Suspicious roommate checked trashroom later, found body, and called police. Before police arrived, McCoy retrieved body and put it in gym bag. McCoy played tennis and golf in high school and was member of National Honor Society, student council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and other school clubs.
